Remember that Cosmic Law says they have to tell us what they are going to do! They simply choose to tell us what they are doing inside of Movies, TV Shows, and Video Games.
Of course the entire story-line of RESIDENT EVIL reads like a synopsis of what has actually been happening here on Earth (in our reality) for the last 60 years, complete with plagues and pandemics that were deliberately created.
